What a pleasant surprise when Joel (Delgado) showed up for our session tonight in the company of the superb guitarist Ryan Garst of the Traveling Hillbillies.  I miced them up with a selection of DI boxes and Peluso mics.  I put up the wonderful 2247 SE large diaphragm for Joel’s vocal and I put a small diaphragm pencil condenser on Joel’s acoustic and the amp for Shane’s electric guitar.  They noodled about for a couple of minutes getting ideas together and then – BAM!! – first take out of the box.  blew us all away with the instrumental interplay and soaring vocals.  Let me know what you think.  There will be more of this to follow soon!
